Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce on August 26, an expanded partnership that puts Salesforce’s customer data, workflows and governance rules directly inside Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant. The launch centers on Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills that sellers and AI agents can use to review deal health, prepare for meetings, update pipeline records and take other actions without leaving the Claude interface.
According to Salesforce’s announcement, the plugin connects Claude to live revenue data so sales reps can ask natural-language questions and get answers grounded in actual account history rather than generic responses. The companies said Salesforce in Claude also builds customized dashboards during onboarding, pulling a customer’s account and pipeline data into interactive views.
A shift toward agentic software
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff described the deal as bringing together “the world’s #1 AI and #1 CRM,” while Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the integration lets companies “point Claude at customer information … and use it to actually run and grow their businesses.” Salesforce’s Patrick Stokes, president of applications and marketing, said value increases sharply once customers move from Salesforce’s traditional interface to an agentic one.
Salesforce in Claude is currently available to a select group of pilot customers, with an open beta planned for September 2026 and additional prebuilt skills expected later in the year. Pricing and packaging have not been finalized. The companies also said they plan further integrations spanning Claude, Salesforce and Slack.
Part of a broader enterprise AI push
The announcement lands days after Anthropic reported its first profitable quarter, with revenue topping $11.5 billion, and as rivals race to embed AI assistants into business software — Google, for instance, has built Gemini into enterprise tools for specific industries. For Salesforce, the tie-up is a bet that customers will increasingly manage customer relationships through conversational AI agents rather than traditional software interfaces. Salesforce shares rose in extended trading after the announcement, alongside stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings.
