Huawei Cloud Launches Agentic AI Infrastructure in Thailand

Huawei Cloud used its Thailand Summit 2026 in Bangkok on July 24 to announce a new “Agentic Infrastructure” stack for building and running AI agents, alongside an open beta of CodeArts Agent, its autonomous coding assistant, according to a company statement.

The infrastructure bundles four components: a UnifiedBus-based AI Cluster Service for token generation, an Agentic Memory Storage Service offering petabyte-scale storage for long-running agent tasks, AgentSphere, a secure runtime for executing agent actions, and CCE Volcano Next, which schedules general-purpose and AI computing workloads together. Huawei Cloud said the goal is to let enterprises run agents that operate continuously rather than simply responding to single prompts.

CodeArts Agent, offered as an open beta in Thailand, adds IDE functionality, project-level code generation, unit-test generation, and an “Agent Team” mode that lets multiple agents collaborate on the same codebase at once.

Huawei Cloud APAC president Sunny Shang said the company is committed to building an “AI-driven digital future for Thailand,” while Huawei Cloud Thailand CTO Surasak Wanichwatphibun said the launch would help the company “strengthen technological capabilities and build robust computing infrastructure” for local clients.

A regional push

The announcement extends a broader expansion in Southeast Asia: Huawei Cloud said it already serves more than 40 government agencies in Thailand through three availability zones, and Gartner ranks it third by revenue in the country’s infrastructure-as-a-service market, behind the dominant US cloud computing providers. Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and NECTEC, a state research agency, took part in the summit’s public-sector program.

The launch mirrors a wider pattern of AI infrastructure investment across the region: Nvidia and SK Group’s $500 billion Korea AI deal and OpenAI’s Presence, an enterprise AI agent platform, show US and Chinese cloud providers alike racing to lock in enterprise customers for agent-based AI in Asia-Pacific.

Huawei has not published pricing or a general-availability date for either the infrastructure stack or CodeArts Agent beyond the current beta.
